Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for accompanying patients to outdoor recreational activities.
  • The candidate must perform other tasks related to personal care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supplying and emptying bed pans.
  • The candidate must take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • The candidate must serve meal trays and feed patients.
  • The candidate must weigh, lift, turn, and position patients.
  • The candidate will be responsible for delivering messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens across departments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for making beds and maintaining patient rooms.
  • The candidate will be responsible for bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • The candidate must transport patients between care facilities.
  • The candidate must transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher.
  • The candidate must answer to call signals to determine the needs of patients.
  • The candidate must collect specimens.
  • The candidate must provide first aid in an emergency.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades, or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in a home care and visiting care agency, hospital or home for the aged, or nursing home/home for the aged.
  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.
