Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to engage with internal partners, communities, and external stakeholders to build alignments and drive impact across cross-cutting priorities related to equity. 
  • They’re appointed to monitor current social, economic, and political trends and issues, including legislative proposals and Council directives, that impact Indigenous, Black and equity-deserving groups. 
  • Candidates are appointed to leverage user research, engagements, scans and findings to recommend strategic and policy directions for the City. 
  • Candidates are also appointed to develop measurement and evaluation frameworks to support an outcomes-based approach
  • They’re also appointed to research and present best practices and options for programs and policies, including assessment of implications, feasibility of options and implementation strategies. 
  • Candidates are appointed to develop partnerships, resources/tools for City divisions to build capacity, engagement and understanding of equity

Job requirement 

  • They must acquire dedicated experiences in the development, implementation and evaluation of equity, diversity and inclusion policies, programs and initiatives within a large public or private sector organization. 
  • Candidates experience with service equity and influencing organizational change strategies
  • Candidates must have dedicated experience coordinating advisory and consultation processes involving elected officials, staff, external partners and community members. 
  • Candidates must attain a strong ability to perform research, analysis and report writing to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, test and analyze complex information with attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Candidates must attain strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, and negotiation/problem solving skills at all organizational levels. 

Work setting 

  • Candidates must acquire post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
