Job Description

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate will operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, and place equipment and materials.
  • The candidate must read blueprints to determine the work requirements.
  • The candidate will operate pile-driving cranes that drive pilings into the ground to support buildings and other structures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices.
  • The candidate will operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas.
  • The candidate will operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • The candidate must assist in the demolition of buildings.
  • The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tending or feeding construction machines and equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directing traffic near construction sites.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must lift to 23 kg (50 lbs) and more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be hardworking.

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience in operating various equipment and machinery, including bobcats, bushing guns, reciprocating saws, circular saws, concrete saws, mortar and concrete mixers, grinding machines, grouting machines, jackhammers, air compressors, nail guns, drills, augers, trampers (Jumping Jack), chain saws, forklifts, sledgehammers, and hand tools.
