Job Description

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate must measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-operational inspections.
  • The candidate must read blueprints to determine the work requirements.
  • The candidate must be capable of erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • The candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices.
  • The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • The candidate must assist in pipe alignment during pipeline construction.
  • The candidate will assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • The candidate must level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • The candidate must assist in the demolition of buildings.
  • The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work.
  • The candidate must clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tending or feeding construction machines and equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing drywall sheets.
  • The candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing buildings and developing plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs, and construction schedules.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate will be required to have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a one- to two-year program.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising drywall installers and finishers.
  • The candidate must have a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training certification, a Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, and a First Aid Certificate.
  • The candidate must lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
