Job Description

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate must read blueprints to determine the work requirements.
  • The candidate must be capable of erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • The candidate must level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • The candidate must assist in the demolition of buildings.
  • The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tending or feeding construction machines and equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directing traffic near construction sites.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and more than 45 kg (100 lbs.).

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in hazardous conditions.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty and cold/refrigerated conditions.

  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate must work on high-rise building construction sites as well as construction sites.
  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
  • The candidate’s relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience with bobcats, curbing machines, concrete vibrators, reciprocating saws, circular saws, concrete saws, mortar and concrete mixers, grinding machines, jackhammers, air compressors, air guns, nail guns, drills, forklifts, and hand tools.

Construction specialization

  • The candidate must be skilled in the construction of driveways, industrial, commercial, institutional, residential buildings, poured concrete and roofing.
