Job Description
- The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
- The candidate must read blueprints to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must be capable of erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
- The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
- The candidate will be required to assist in the framing of houses, the erection of walls, and the construction of roofs.
- The candidate must level earth to fine grade specifications.
- The candidate must assist in the demolition of buildings.
- The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work.
- The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
- The candidate will be responsible for tending or feeding construction machines and equipment.
- The candidate will be responsible for directing traffic near construction sites.
- The candidate must build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for weeding.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have Personal protective equipment (PPE) training Certification, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Certification, Working at heights training Certification and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
- The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
- The candidate should be accurate.

Experience and specialization
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience using various tools such as bobcats, concrete vibrators, power-driven floats, reciprocating saws, circular saws, concrete saws, mortar and concrete mixers, grinding machine, jackhammers, air compressors, air guns, nail guns, drills, trampers (jumping jack), small front end loaders, chain saw, compactor, sledgehammer, and hand tools.
Construction specialization
- The candidate must be skilled in the construction of residential buildings and poured concrete structures.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about the installation of reinforcing steel.
