Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare reports or case histories.
  • The candidate must perform office and administrative tasks.
  • The candidate must plan, coordinate, and carry out the delivery of specific services in the community.
  • The candidate will be responsible for housekeeping duties.
  • The candidate will be responsible for food preparation.
  • The candidate must be able resolve conflict situations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for implementing behaviour management programs.
  • The candidate must communicate with other social service agencies and health care providers who are involved with clients.
  • The candidate must maintain program statistics for evaluation and research purposes.
  • The candidate must assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs.
  • The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
  • The candidate must accompany clients to appointments and social outings.
  • The candidate must manage knowledge.
  • The candidate must organize tasks in order to complete the work.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience in disability studies.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification, Mandat System training Certification, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.

Work site environment

  • Work site environment provides Personal and social adjustment and health programs (substance abuse, gambling, behavior disorders) and programs dealing with autism spectrum disorder.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
  • The employee should be able to work in the employer’s/client’s home, have the ability to work at various site locations, and the specific period of progression is the annual review.
  • The candidate should work in a community agency to help build an inclusive environment that makes residents feel integrated and empowered.
  • The candidate must work for a charity or social services organization.

Experience and specialization

Computer and technology knowledge

  • The candidate must be familiar with Electronic mail and MS Office.

Area of work experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience working for a community service organization.
