Job Description 

  • Candidates who applied for this post are appointed to provide advice regarding current knowledge and best practices in key opportunities of the zero-carbon transition working at this post.
  • They must maintain updating the City’s community GHG inventory working at this post.
  • Candidates who apply for this post are required to lead, develop, and support updates to regulations, policies, and incentives for building decarbonization working at this post.
  •  Candidates who applied for this post are required to integrate climate mitigation and adaptation in the updates of the Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw, and Neighbourhood Concept Plans in collaboration with Community Planning staff working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have a master’s degree with a specialization in climate policy, sustainability, environmental science, environmental engineering, and resource management to be eligible for this post.
  • People must attain experience in project management, business case development, budget and contract management to be eligible for this post.
  • People must know the principles, processes and practices of community climate policy development and strategic planning.
  • Applicants must attain knowledge and experience in developing and implementing building decarbonization policies, strategies and programs to be eligible for this post.
  •  Applicants must attain excellent interpersonal skills, including facilitation, collaboration, conflict resolution and relationship building, to be eligible for this post.

Work setting 

  • They must attain the ability to work independently, effectively manage time and deliver on commitments.
  • Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •   They must have demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills to be considered as an asset for this post.
