Job Description
- People who applied for this post are required to assist in providing individual and group programs to students who are Deaf working at this post.
- They’re also appointed to this post to assist with the physical needs of students.
- People who applied for this post are required to be available to work on-call hours as required.
- They’re also required to follow up on specialized programs set up by other agencies/professionals working at this post.
- People who applied for this post are required to assist in program preparation and materials working at this post.
Job requirement
- They must have a Community College certificate and equivalent training, education and working experience in a child-related field to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates applying for this post must attain the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff using American Sign Language.
- They must have Current certification in CPR and First Aid to be preferred for this post.
- Applicants must have demonstrated experience working with students who are deaf and may have other emotional and behavioural disorders to be considered as an asset for this post.
- People applying for this post must have demonstrated experience implementing academic and prescribed behaviour management programs in the classroom.
Work setting
- They must have prior knowledge of education terms and strategies as they relate to students with behavioural and educational exceptionalities to be eligible for this post.
