Job Description

  • Candidates interested in this post to provide information, reference and reader advisory services.
  • People interested at this post to develop, implement and conduct children’s programs working at this post.
  • Candidates are also required to provide circulation and page services in the Library and the community and mini-libraries, nursing homes and other locations working at this post.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have completed a 2-year college diploma in Library and Information Technician, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of related experience working with children’s programs.
  • They must have dedicated knowledge of trends and techniques for developing effective library programming for children.
  • Applicants are also required to maintain reference resources in print, microform and electronic formats and of current developments in reference services.
  • Candidates must attain a dedicated electronic database and other bibliographic searching techniques to be considered as an asset for this post.
  • They must have general knowledge of library policies and procedures to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting

  • Candidates must attain dedicated knowledge of customer service techniques and protocols.
