Job Description

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate must be able to mix, pour, and spread materials.
  • The candidate will be expected to help with house framing, wall construction, and roof construction.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the demolition of buildings.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • The candidate will be required to fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools.
  • The candidate will be required to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • The candidate will be required to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • The candidate will be expected to maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client focused.

  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

  • The candidate must have prior experience with reciprocating saws, circular saws, mortar and concrete mixers, air compressors, air guns, nail guns, drills, chain saws, and sledgehammers.

  • The candidate must be skilled in renovation and commercial construction.
