Job Description
- Candidates are appointed to guide semi-skilled labourers to complete carpentry projects.
- They’re appointed to Perform general labour tasks associated with the carpentry trade.
- They’re also appointed to maintain the other assets in national parks and historic sites.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the position.
- Candidates must acquire a valid Provincial or Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate as a Carpenter with Red Seal Endorsement.
- They must have experience in estimating materials, equipment needs and job costing to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have experience using and inspecting a wide range of speciality tools and equipment.
- They must know current codes, statutes, and regulations related to carpentry to be eligible for this post.
- They must know Canadian codes and standards associated with the construction and maintenance of assets.
- Candidates must attain the ability to use carpentry-related tools and equipment and instruct others on their use.
- They must attain dedicated experience in wood finishing.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain dedicated experience in maintaining historical buildings to be eligible for this post.
