Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for training students, other technologists, and nurses.
  • The candidate will be responsible for checking, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for operating electromyography and diagnostic equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing recordings and reports of findings for physicians.
  • The candidate must evaluate the patient’s case history and determine the nature of the issue in order to determine the necessary procedures and tests.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring cardiac activity and recording the results.
  • The candidate will be responsible for operating electrocardiographs, cardiac ultrasounds, and other electronic equipment.
  • The candidate must perform cardiovascular procedures and tests.
  • The candidate must prepare reports for interpretation by cardiologists.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must be registered with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists and have a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be punctual.

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about Electrocardiography tests, Ambulatory monitoring, Exercise stress testing, and Holter monitoring/scanning.
