Job Description
- The candidate must operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components.
- The candidate must develop specifications for custom-made cabinets that maximize storage.
- The candidate must shape the surfaces or edges of wooden workpieces using hand tools such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
- The candidate will be required to study the plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
- The candidate must trim joints, fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit, and reinforce joints.
- The candidate must sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics.
- The candidate will be responsible for applying varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
- The candidate must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
- The candidate must repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- Candidate having experience is an asset.
