Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • The candidate will be required to study plans, specifications, or drawings of items to be manufactured, or to prepare specifications.
  • The candidate will be required to use woodworking machines and hand tools to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • The candidate will be required to trim joints, fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit, and reinforce joints.
  • The candidate will be expected to repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
  • The candidate will be required to sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • The candidate will be expected to ensure that all dimensions are correct.
  • The candidate will be expected to plan an efficient work approach to ensure that each project is completed on time.
  • The candidate will be responsible for inspecting each completed item to ensure that it was built correctly and that all necessary finishes were applied.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing and applying laminated plastics.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise other employees.
  • The candidate will be required to estimate the amount, type, and cost of materials needed.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep the workplace clean and safe.
