Job Description

The candidate will be expected to report to the Maintenance Supervisor and perform repairs as well as preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings to ensure proper operation and compliance with food, health, and safety standards.
The candidate will be expected to carry out the preventive and corrective maintenance orders.
The candidate will be expected to follow and respect the preventive maintenance schedule for the equipment under his supervision.
The candidate will be required to complete the necessary forms and documents related to the work performed.
The candidate will be expected to manage and keep the inventory for the equipment under his supervision up to date.
The candidate will be expected to perform interior and exterior building inspections.
The candidate will be expected to perform mechanical work on the factory building in accordance with the maintenance department’s workload.
The candidate will be expected to ensure that his actions in his function support the manufacture of products that meet the company’s quality, health and safety, and food safety criteria.
The candidate will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
The candidate would be responsible for reading, interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications and adhering to instructions and operating manuals
The candidate will be responsible for operating, troubleshooting, replacing, repairing, and maintaining all heating, ventilation, and fire systems, as well as associated electromechanical devices and subsystems.
The candidate will be responsible for replacing and cleaning air and roll media filters, as well as lubricating and tightening belts as needed.
The candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining tubular steel furniture, water tanks, power plant equipment, security screens, steel structures, and security and non-security locks.
The candidate will be expected to perform emergency repairs in the absence of other maintenance personnel and to assist plumbers and electricians as needed.
The candidate will be expected to complete and keep accurate logs and records.
The candidate will be required to check plumbing and performing some maintenance where possible (i.e. repair or replacing taps, toilets, and water lines; unplugging sinks, drains, sewage lines and traps, etc.)
The candidate will be required to perform minor electrical maintenance (i.e. changing bulbs, fuses, switches, fixtures; cleaning and servicing electrical motors, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers etc.).
The candidate will be required to clean, oil, adjust, and installing locks.
The candidate will be required to patch cracks and plaster, brick or cement and painting.
The candidate would be in charge of detecting flaws through observation including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
The candidate will be required to follow safety rules and regulations.
The candidate will be required to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
The candidate would be in charge of developing and implementing a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
The candidate would be responsible for operating a variety of hand and power tools.
The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with other team members in a noisy environment.
In the event of an emergency, the candidate must respond quickly, notify appropriate personnel, and adhere to safety protocols.
The candidate will be expected to keep an inventory of repair tools and supplies
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the correct and timely completion of all protective maintenance duties.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English or French languages.
The candidate should have minimum qualification of DEP or DEC n building mechanics, electricity or other certification deemed relevant
The ideal candidate should have a minimum 2 years of working experience in similar industry.
The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor environment for long hours.
The candidates will be required to work in confined spaces.
The candidate will be required to work in hot or cold environments.
Knowledge of electricity will be an asset to the candidate.
The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Windows Excel, Office and Outlook.
The candidate should have prior experience in the food industry, particularly with processes and production lines.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude as well as the ability to comprehend complex diagrams and schematics.
The candidate must be able to perform manual tasks.

To perform sanitary welds, the candidate should have knowledge and skills in TIG welding.
