Job Description
- Applicants who apply for this post are appointed to calculate construction costs, building permit fees, quantity take-off, and other fees and charges related to building permit application and issuance working at this post.
- People are also appointed to conduct meetings with the interested parties. Resolves conflict and offers possible solutions to ensure compliance.
- Candidates accountable at this post to conduct plan examinations, advise applicants of required changes and inform them of divisional and City policies and procedures.
- People applied for this post to advise applicants and City employees regarding policies, procedures, and building permit application requirements working at this post.
- They’re accountable at this post to perform site inspections to resolve construction problems and provide technical advice to Building Inspectors working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a discipline such as architectural technology, building science civil engineering technology or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience to be eligible for this post.
- They must have gained considerable experience reviewing construction drawings for compliance with the Ontario Building Code to be eligible for this post.
- People must attain the ability to use various computer applications such as CADD, MS Office, Amanda and other engineering or architectural software to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must know the Ontario Building Code along with the ability to plan, organize and manage work with minimal supervision and complete assigned duties accurately and within timelines.
- They must attain the ability to work well autonomously or within a team environment to be eligible for this post.
