Job Description

Job requirement

  • In order to achieve a diverse and high-functioning frontline workforce, candidates will be selected from the Public Service Resource System list. Therefore, candidates who fall under one or more employment equity groups such as Indigenous Peoples, Persons with Disabilities, or Women will be included.
  • Candidates who wish to work in small or hard-to-staff POEs will also be considered. If you refuse to work in a location you have been assigned, you may be removed from the selection process. You will then have to reapply and wait for a waiting period.
  • Candidates must be proficient in the English language or know how to speak and write English.
  • Candidates who meet all the criteria mentioned here must meet the secondary school diploma requirement for the FB group.
  • Candidates are required to provide evidence of a higher educational certificate than the required education. On the other hand, candidates with foreign certificates are required to provide evidence of Canadian equivalency.
  • The candidate must complete and pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC).
  • A valid and unrestricted license is required for this. With this, the holder can drive a motor vehicle in Canada.
  • In addition, you have to obtain and maintain the increased reliability status plus secret clearance i.e. security clearance for a long time.
  • You should be aware of the CBSA recruitment policy and appearance standards. After this, you will have to wear a uniform keeping in mind these standards.
  • You will not be allowed to drive a personal vehicle. You will have to drive only government vehicles.
  • You will have to travel in Canada, continental USA, and internationally. You will also get the facility to travel on the basis of the instructions given.
  • Different examinations have to be passed for different posts under this. Therefore, you have to go through a medical examination and pass it.
  • Along with obtaining a transportation security clearance, it needs to be maintained for a long time. If you are posted in any area in Canada, you have to accept that fixed posting.
  • You will have to work in rotation and on weekends. Sometimes you may be forced to work in different shifts on statutory holidays.
