Job Description

  • The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
  • The candidate will be responsible for grooming horses in preparation for competitions and shows.
  • The candidate must be able to handle animals.
  • The candidate must monitor animal health.
  • The candidate must perform livestock feeding.
  • The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
  • The candidate must maintain work records and logs.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.
  • The candidate will monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include hay farming and other miscellaneous animal farming.
  • The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area, where most people live or work on farms or ranches. Rural areas include hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements.

Experience and specialization

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must have experience handling horses.

Animal specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about Thoroughbred horses.
