Job Description

The candidate must prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
The candidate must request or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
The candidate must bake mixed dough and batters.
The candidate must train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
The candidate must prepare special orders.
The candidate will be responsible for supervising the baking and kitchen staff.
The candidate must frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
The candidate must establish production schedules.
The candidate must ensure that the product quality meets established standards.
The candidate must inspect the kitchen and food service areas.
The candidate must operate machinery.
The candidate must organize and maintain inventory.
The candidate will be responsible for preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
The candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and assistants.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.

Work setting

The candidate should work in a bakery. Bakers use various equipment of all sizes, including mixers, ovens, conveyor belts, dough dividers, and provers.
The candidate should work in a large-volume bakery. Bakers bake and sell freshly baked goods throughout the day and night, sometimes on weekends.
