Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate will be responsible for adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of automotive systems.
  • The candidate must repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • The candidate must estimate the parts and labor costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • The candidate must perform scheduled maintenance service.
  • The candidate must test and adjust units to specifications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for advising customers on the work completed and future repair requirements.
  • The candidate must complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coaching and instructing apprentices.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have an Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be dependable.

Experience and specialization

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about Engine repair, 4-wheel drive, Electrical and electronic system and Auto body repair.

Additional information

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • The candidate must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced busy environment.
  • The candidate should have an eye for details.

Own tools/equipment

  • The candidate must have tools.
