Job description
- Candidates provide maintenance and repairs to City vehicles and equipment and utilizes a variety of hand and power tools and equipment.
- They perform overhaul, engine tune-ups, etc.
- They will diagnose and effect repairs of transmissions, clutches, front/rear axles, differentials, brake systems, drive lines, etc. Contacts suppliers regarding parts etc.
- They will perform inspections and safety checks.
- They may be required to provide work direction and training to other staff.
- They have to perform a variety of skilled work not requiring the service of other licensed trades.
Job requirement
- Candidates must possess the current Ontario Government Certificate of Qualifications – Truck and Coach Technician (310T).
- They should have considerable experience in all aspects of the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
Work setting
- Candidates must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work.
- They must be physically capable of performing required duties.
- They must be available to work shifts/ weekends/ overtime/ on call duty.
- They must have the ability to provide work direction and training to others.
