Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate will be responsible for adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of automotive systems.
  • The candidate must repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • The candidate must estimate the parts and labour costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • The candidate must perform scheduled maintenance service.
  • The candidate must test and adjust units to specifications.
  • The candidate must advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • The candidate must complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coaching and instructing apprentices.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification,
    Tire, wheel and rim mechanic Certification, Automotive Service Technician (Fuel and Electrical Systems) Trade Certification, Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension and Brakes) Trade Certification, Motor Vehicle Repairer (Service Station Mechanic) Trade Certification, HVAC Certificate and Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate.
  • The candidate should be accurate.

  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
