Job Description 

  • Candidates working at this post are required to evaluate the implications of a range of heritage planning initiatives, including heritage permits, minor variance applications, and nominations for the protection of heritage properties working at this post. 
  • Candidates at this post are required to prepare maps, diagrams, charts, tables, and other presentation materials, manually or using computer applications working at this post. 
  • Candidates for this post are also required to design, coordinate, and implement surveys and heritage planning studies.
  • They’re also required to maintain Divisional reports and records working at this post. 
  • Candidates will have to prepare and present evidence and opinions before the Ontario Land Tribunal working at this post. 

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have a post-secondary certificate or diploma in heritage conservation or the equivalent combination of education and experience to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must have dedicated experience in the Heritage Preservation field to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must have experience working with the general public and/or within a work team.
  • They must have the ability to understand and apply the Ontario Heritage Act and related processes for preserving heritage properties.
  • Candidates must have dedicated knowledge of and experience working with the Planning Act.
  • They must have the ability to interpret architectural and site plan drawings to be eligible for this post. 

Work setting 

  • Candidates must have well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft letters, prepare reports and deliver presentations to be eligible for this post.
