Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to participate in research projects on topics related to heritage conservation and conservation science.
- They’re also appointed to provide technical advice and scientific analysis reports to heritage clients on behalf of the Canadian Conservation Institute.
- Candidates are appointed for understanding, evaluating and improving new conservation treatments and materials;
- They’re also appointed to conduct scientific photo-documentation working in this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated graduation degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, and chemistry.
- Candidates must attain dedicated experience in using analytical instrumentation for the chemical or physical analysis of materials.
- They must have required experience in the interpretation of results from the chemical analysis of materials for the elucidation of chemical composition or structure.
- Candidates must attain the ability to handle the determination of chemical composition from GC-MS chromatograms and mass spectra.
- They must have dedicated experience in undertaking scientific research, either as a stand-alone project or as a contribution to a larger project.
- They must attain the ability to work a minimum of 4 days per week in person in the office to perform the duties of the position.
- Candidates must ensure the willingness and ability to occasionally work off-site to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain the ability to work in a laboratory space where exposure to chemical vapours, fumes, odours or dust may occur, resulting in mild discomfort.

- Candidates with superb communications and dedicated scientific knowledge are preferred for this post.
