Job Description
- Candidates applying for this post are required for case management of assigned appeals and applications.
- People who apply for this post are required to interpret Tribunal policy, procedures and practice.
- Candidates appointed to this post are required to make submissions as a neutral party on complex points of law or novel issues working at this post.
- People who apply for this post are appointed to provide post-hearing assistance and case management.
- They’re required at this post for conducting expeditious post-hearing inquiries e.g. investigations, medical opinion evidence gathering applied for this post.
- Candidates working at this post are appointed to arrange for responses from parties and/or the WSIB and are also required to coordinate the re-assignment of OIC appointees.
Job requirement
- Candidates must know other legal areas such as labor/employment law, public law and privacy law to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to research and gather information effectively.
- They must have analytical capabilities with a particular focus on expanding knowledge of administrative law workplace safety insurance law, and litigation to be eligible for this post.
- People applying for this post must attain the ability to identify, assess, and recommend steps to avoid risks to the Tribunal’s reputation in relation to appeal-related issues as well as corporate matters to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates applying for this post must have strong oral and written advocacy skills to formulate written and oral arguments composed of complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible way for parties to be eligible for this post.
