City of Toronto has released a notification in which they’re inviting candidates for the post of Arena Pool Operator 2. The duties and responsibilities need to be understood by the candidates, and they should do their best. They will perform tasks required for the safe and proper operation of a facility that may include arenas, pools, community centres and surrounding grounds, including parks maintenance. They will make minor equipment and/or facility repairs and perform preventative maintenance. They will carry out day to day janitorial duties and seasonal maintenance programs.

Job description
- Candidates will produce reports, including incident reports concerning the operation and use of facilities.
- They will inspect and operate equipment such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, pumps and filtration equipment and grounds maintenance equipment.
- They will operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment and cleans, floods and maintains ice surfaces.
Job requirement
- Candidates should possess experience in the safe and efficient operation of arenas, pools and associated facilities and related equipment.
- They ought to possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and must qualify for the City’s equipment operating permits and requirements.
Work setting
- Candidates must have the ability to efficiently operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment.
- They should possess the ability to operate and maintain facility maintenance equipment (i.e. janitorial, snow removal equipment, etc.)
- They should be physically capable of performing required duties.
- They ought to be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including WHMIS procedures and the provisions and legislation that apply to this work.
