Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are responsible for preparing artefacts for long-term storage.
  • Candidates are also appointed to assist with accessioning archaeological site data and cataloguing photographs.
  • They’re also appointed to contribute to our ongoing efforts in preserving and understanding our cultural heritage.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology with a minimum of 3 completed courses in Archaeology to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must attain practical experience in archaeological fieldwork. 
  • Candidates must attain experience in archaeological lab projects to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must attain dedicated experience using Microsoft Excel or an equivalent software in a data entry context. 
  • Candidates must attain the ability to follow protocols and procedures related to an archaeological field project. 
  • They must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain experience using Geographic Information Systems. 
  • They must attain the ability to travel and work in remote locations to be eligible for this post.

Work setting 

  • Candidates must attain dedicated knowledge of pre and post-contact archaeological material found in Western Canada to be eligible for this post.
