Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for bathing or shampooing.
  • The candidate will be responsible for food preparation and animal feeding.
  • The candidate will be responsible for treating the anal glands.
  • The candidate must clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures.
  • The candidate must keep records of the animals treated.
  • The candidate must assist with animal inoculation and treatment.
  • The candidate must do pet styling and clipping.
  • The candidate must carry out ear cleaning.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and ordering supplies.
  • The candidate must do flea baths.
  • The candidate will be responsible for nail clipping.
  • The candidate must monitor and document the behavior of animals.
  • The candidate must show clipping.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cleaning the teeth.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day business operations.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have completed a veterinary assistant course.
  • The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

  • The candidate must work in an animal hospital or veterinary clinic.

Type of pets groomed

  • The types of pets groomed include all breeds of dogs and cats.

Animal specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.), exotic birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, etc., laboratory animals (rats, monkeys, etc.) and reptiles.
