Job Description 

  • People who applied for this post are accountable for administering, directing and managing all activities in the home through effective strategic and operational planning, ethical decision-making and innovation.
  • They’re appointed at this post to lead effective change management while maintaining a positive and healthy work environment working at this post.
  • Candidates who applied for this post are required to develop operational plans to achieve the goals and objectives of the home and to guide day­-to-day activities that are aligned with the Division’s mission, vision, values and strategic directions applied for this post.
  • People who applied for this post are also accountable for providing leadership in the creation of a safety culture within the home and contributing to Division-wide safety initiatives working at this post.
  • Candidates applying for this post are appointed to establish processes to ensure accountability at all levels of the home’s operations working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have completed a master’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration or Social Services, or an accredited internship and recognized courses in long-term care management to be eligible for this post.
  • People applying for this post must have experience working in the fast, fast-paced, complex healthcare environment to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must have prior experience as a senior manager in a long-term care home, providing strategic leadership in operational planning, management of risk, ethical decision-making and innovation.
  • Applicants must be motivational leaders who can supervise and manage staff in a fast-paced, politically sensitive, unionized environment to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must attain the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and political acumen.
