Administrative Assistant

Advantage Personnel based in Saint John, NB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. The Advantage Group is a large, privately held Canadian employment and staffing firm. The company began with a primary focus on the transportation industry, but has since expanded into a full-service operation that provides employment services for temporary, contract, contingent, and direct hire placements, outsourced payroll and benefits, human resource services, and health and safety. We believe in developing business relationships rather than just making a quick sale, and we believe in getting to know our clients. Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of College degree, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Previous experience is not mandatory.
  • The candidate having hands on experience in Spreadsheet, Electronic Scheduler, Electronic Mail is an added advantage.
  • The candidate would be responsible for training new joiners.
  • The selected candidate have to supervise and monitor work of other workers.

  • The candidate will be required to handle office correspondence independently.
  • The candidate will be required to assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.

  • The candidate should provide general support to visitors.
  • The candidate will be required to provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office.
  • The candidate would be responsible for attending training sessions to improve administrative skills.
  • The candidate would be in charge of supervising administrative staff and delegating duties to ensure performance.
  • The candidate would be in charge of submitting reports on time and preparing presentations or proposals as needed.
  • The candidate would be in charge of overseeing the upkeep of office facilities and equipment.
  • The candidate would be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative professional business relationships with all levels of management, employees and outside clients.
  • The candidate would be responsible for providing back up assistance to other administrative support team members as needed
  • The candidate will be responsible for keeping general office files, such as job files, vendor files, and other files related to the company’s operations.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform bookkeeping tasks such as invoicing, account receivable monitoring, and budget tracking.

  • The candidate should be well-versed in Microsoft Windows and Simply Accounting.

  • The candidate should be bondable and easily communicate.
  • The candidate should have a thorough Criminal record check.

  • For transportation, the candidate should use their own vehicle.
