Budget Analyst

Job Description 

  • Candidates who applied for this post are accountable for preparing budget schedules and taking necessary action to effect and maintain control of budget adjustments throughout the year working at this post.
  • They’re also accountable at this post to track capital budget project progress, expenditures, commitments, completion status and year-end projections applied for this post.
  •  Applicants are also accountable at this post for developing, preparing and maintaining monthly budget variance and forecast reports in relation to Operating budgets for senior management of the Division working at this post.
  •  Candidates who applied for this post are appointed to conduct cost-benefit studies and financial research on divisional operations from concept to completion working at this post.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain a degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be eligible for this post.
  • Applicants must have prior experience with budget preparation, including complex financial statements, by using budget planning and data visualization tools such as CAPTOR and Public Budget Formulation to be considered as an asset for this post.
  • Candidates must attain the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and with external clients to be eligible for this post.
  • People applying for this post must attain the ability to work in teams and maintain cooperative relationships to be eligible for this post.
  • People must attain the ability to maintain confidential information to be eligible for this post.

Work setting 

  • Candidates are also accountable for reviewing and updating current Divisional procedures as required to facilitate coordination of the division’s budget submission and others working at this post.
