Job Description
- Candidates applied for this post are accountable for preparing building code act orders in electronic format for issuance working at this post.
- People accountable at this post initiate legal action through the City’s Prosecution Office, including the swearing of Information, service of Summons, and testifying in court when required.
- People accountable at this post to respond to related enquiries received from the general public and/or internal staff working at this post.
- People who apply for this post are also accountable for presenting a professional, positive, knowledgeable, and conscientious image to the public at all times working at this post.
- Candidates appointed to this post are required to work in coordination with other Building Division staff, other City departments, and external agencies working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must be certified engineering or architectural technologists and have post-secondary education related to building design and construction to be eligible for this post.
- They must have a minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience along with proficiency in the reading and interpretation of building design drawings to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants must be certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Building Code Official is desirable to be eligible for this post.

- They must have strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work in a team environment to be eligible for this post.
