Job Description

The candidate must be able to handle animals.
The candidate must organize tasks in order to accomplish the work.
The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.
The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed.
The candidate must milk cows.
The candidate must perform general farm duties.

There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
Candidate having experience is an asset.
The candidate must be well-organized.

The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
The candidate must be able to work in dusty, hot, wet/damp and dirty conditions.
The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
Farm operations include dairy and livestock production.
The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

The candidate must have experience using an automated milking system and a farm truck.
