Job Description

  • The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections as well as oversee all vehicle aspects.
  • The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
  • The candidate will be expected to transport and handle hazardous materials.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in French language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks) as well as a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip).

Type of trucking and equipment

  • Trucking and equipment types include dump truck, liquid bulk and tractor-trailer.

Transportation/travel experience

  • The candidate must have prior travel experience in both local and provincial/territorial areas.

  • The candidate must have a valid passport.
  • The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal record check, driver’s licence validity check, and driving record check (abstract).
