Cardero’s Restaurant based in Vancouver, BC, is looking for candidates for the position of Cook with 4 vacancies. The ones chosen to be employed will be required to start work as soon as possible. The job is LMIA approved. The vacancies refer to that of permanent employment and a full time job. The shift is yet to be determined but usually will extend from morning to day to evening and the candidate might have to work in the weekend as well.

Job description

  • The candidate will be required to train staff in preparation and cooking of food.
  • The candidate will be required to train staff in handling of food.
  • The candidate will be required to supervise kitchen staff.
  • The candidate will be required to take note of the helpers.
  • The candidate will be required to organize and manage buffets.
  • The candidate will be required to organize and manage banquets.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
  • The candidate will be required to manage kitchen operations.
  • The candidate will be required to inspect kitchens.
  • The candidate will be required to look after food service areas.
  • The candidate will be required to clean kitchen and work areas.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of food and supplies.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare and cook complete meals.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare individual dishes and foods.
  • The candidate will be required to plan menus.
  • The candidate will be required to determine size of food portions.
  • The candidate will be required to estimate food requirements.
  • The candidate will be required to manage and estimate costs.
  • The candidate will be required to monitor supplies.

  • The candidate should does not require any degree, certificate or diploma for this job.
  • The candidate should have an experience of at least two year to less than three years.
  • The candidate should specialize in Canadian dishes.
  • Public transportation is available for the candidate to use.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should have interpersonal awareness.
  • The work will involve a combination of sitting, standing and walking which the candidate should be comfortable with.
  • The candidate should be able to manage tight deadlines.
