Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing livestock health issues.
  • The candidate must be able to handle animals.
  • The candidate must monitor animal health.
  • The candidate will be responsible for treating livestock health issues.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed.
  • The candidate will be responsible for formulating feeding program.
  • The candidate must maintain livestock performance records.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality control and production records.
  • The candidate must supervise and manage breeding and other livestock-related programs.
  • The candidate must maintain work records and logs.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 3 to 4 people.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots and livestock.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty and hot conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience operating both the feeding and watering systems, as well as the tractor.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about agricultural livestock service and beef cattle.
