Job Description
- The candidate will disinfect pens, barns, and poultry houses.
- The candidate must be able to handle animals.
- The candidate must mark livestock to prove ownership.
- The candidate must monitor animal health.
- The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.
- The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
- The candidate must ensure that farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality control and production records.
- The candidate must perform general farm duties.
- The candidate will install and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
Work site environment
- Farm operations include hog and pig farming, and other miscellaneous crop farming.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in a rural area, where most people live or work on farms or ranches. Rural areas include hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements.
