Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to act as a resource for questions on operational risks and negotiate contract language on third-party contracts.
  • They’re also appointed to assist in determining the risk the corporation can tolerate while keeping the benefits to the citizens and The City’s interests at the forefront of any decisions.
  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to investigate emerging risks and identify reasonable insurance requirements for such risks.
  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to analyze information requested by The City’s insurance broker.
  • They’re also appointed at this post to determine objectives to achieve procurement of insurance coverage based on The City’s risk appetite and setting expectations for both internal and external partners to meet firm deadlines.
  • They must be able to create and distribute renewal packages for society partners and internal business units.
  • Candidates are also appointed to provide risk and insurance-related training and developmental support.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have completed a high school diploma or equivalent and Chartered Insurance Professional and Canadian Risk Management designations with at least 5 years of insurance experience. 
  • They must attain a degree with at least 5 years of insurance experience to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain dedicated working knowledge of personal and commercial insurance policies, including insurance concepts to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must attain excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven customer focus and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to be eligible for this post.
