Design Draftsperson
Toronto transit commission is looking for candidates who are eligible and qualified for working as a design draftsperson. Candidates at this post will have to prepare the preliminary and final electrical engineering drawings using Bentley Microstation V8i CAD and/or manual drafting methods, and provide general design support for various projects related to industrial building services of transit facilities. Registration for this post has already started and it will end soon.

Job Description
- Candidates will have to retrieve and review existing facility drawings and specifications.
- They’re also appointed for conducting web searches, liaising with various manufacturing companies, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to collect technical information.
- Candidates will have to check drawings against design requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- They’re appointed to laying out and preparing design drawings from TTC design standards, engineers’ notes, rough sketches, verbal instructions and other engineering design softwares.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a dedicated Community College (2 year) Diploma in the field of Electrical Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Candidates must attain good knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and other applicable codes and regulations, building construction practices, and the properties of electrical distribution equipment/materials.
- Candidates must attain decent proficiency with Bentley AECOSim or Autodesk Revit is considered a valuable asset.
- Candidates must attain several years of related drafting experience.
