Job Description
- The candidate must advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medications.
- The candidate must check prescriptions for proper dosage.
- The candidate will be responsible for compounding prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring, and mixing the appropriate quantities of drugs and other ingredients.
- The candidate will be required to maintain medication profiles of customers, including a registry of poisons, narcotics and controlled drugs.
- The candidate will manage the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products.
- The candidate will supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other personnel.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English.
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
- The candidate must have Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route, Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification
and be licensed by provincial or territorial authorities. - The candidate should be accurate.
- The candidate should be client-focused.
- The candidate should be dependable.
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
- The candidate must be capable of acting on their initiative.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
