Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to respond to customer complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • The candidate must drive lighter, special-purpose trucks.
  • The candidate will be required to load and unload goods.
  • The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections as well as oversee all vehicle aspects.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform preventive maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have an AZ class licence, a DZ class licence, and a Certificate of Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR).
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should be dependable.

Work Setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in various locations.

Experience and Specialization

Documentation Knowledge

  • The candidate should be familiar with accident or incident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.

Type of Trucking and Equipment

  • The trucking and equipment types are dry bulk and straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles).

Truck or Equipment Experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with a snowplough.

Transportation/Travel Experience

  • The candidate must be familiar with the local area.

Vehicle and Equipment Experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with de-icing sprayers.

Area of Work Experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience removing snow.

Additional Information

Security and Safety

  • The candidate should be subjected to a thorough driver’s licence validity check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test.

  • The candidate should have an eye for details.
