Job Description 

  • People applying for this post are required to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of residents through observation and analysis of nursing-related assessments, relevant tests, and indicators working at this post.
  • Candidates are also accountable for transcribing physician and nurse practitioner’s orders for medication or other treatment working at this post.
  • They’re also required to prepare precise dosages of medication in accordance with physician and nurse practitioner’s orders working at this post.
  • People applying for this post are required to maintain inventory, ensuring medications are properly stored, safe, and secure.
  • They’re also appointed to administer prescribed treatments and assessments as ordered by the physician and relevant practitioners.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse to be eligible for this post.
  • They must have a baccalaureate degree in Nursing or an approved Registered Nursing program equivalent to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must have experience in long-term care, geriatrics complex continuing care and acute care.
  • They must attain the ability to apply an analytical decision-making approach drawing on a comprehensive range of evidence-based practice to interpret, analyze and solve problems to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting 

  • People applying for this post are also accountable for preparing and maintaining documentation in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
  • They’re required to instruct and confer with residents and families in planning care and provide emotional support working at this post.
