Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to look after pets.
  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist clients with bathing and other personal hygiene tasks.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate will be expected to take full responsibility for the household (in absence of householder).
  • The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
  • The candidate will have to feed or assist with feeding.
  • The candidate will be expected to launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate will be expected to plan therapeutic diets and menus.
  • The candidate must provide companionship.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate must go shopping for food and household supplies.
  • The candidate will be expected to prepare and serve nutritious meals.
  • The candidate must provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the prevention and/or treatment of malnutrition.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma from a College, CEGEP, or other non-university programme lasting one to two years, or equivalent experience.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have completed Developmental services worker�(DSW)�Training, as well as a CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs).
  • The candidate must be punctual.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
