Job Description
- Applicants who applied for this post are responsible for preparing, maintaining, as well as assisting in the construction of, permanent and temporary museum exhibits.
- They’re also appointed to exercise a significant degree of judgment and initiative within established guidelines under the direction of the Curator of Exhibits.
- Candidates at this post are also required to assist in the packing, unpacking, shipping or delivery of artefacts and displays applied at this post.
- They’re also required at this post for assisting to install or adjust lighting, video and sound systems for exhibits and program areas when required.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed Grade 12 supplemented by related courses and training in museums or the visual arts exhibit preparation work to be eligible for this post.
- They must acquire a relevant bachelor’s degree or technical certificate in a related field like studio arts, stagecraft, design or drafting to be considered as an asset for this post.
- They must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a museum or gallery preparation work or an equivalent combination of training and experience to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must have a valid BC Driver’s License.
- They must attain a dedicated Industrial First Aid Level 1 Certificate to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally.
- Candidates must have firearms possession and acquisition licenses working at this post.
