Job Description
- Candidates who apply for this post are accountable for moving carts/bags to the truck and using appropriate mechanisms to dump or manually lift onto the truck.
- People who apply for this post are also accountable for operating mechanical equipment attached to vehicles/equipment safely and efficiently.
- They’re appointed at this post to place empty carts and containers back into the seset-outocation in a tidy manner working at this post.
- People accountable at this post assist operators by signalling vehicles which are being manoeuvred or backed up when on a two-person crew.
- They’re also appointed at this post to drive vehicles to designated disposal facilities and unload all materials following the requirements of the facility operator working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class “D” Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement to be eligible for this post.
- Applicants must qualify for the City’s equipment operating permits and requirements to get selected for this post.
- They must be familiar with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations for the safe performance of his/her duties and responsibilities or capable of obtaining familiarity with the same to get referred for this post.
- Applicants must possess and be able to maintain as appropriate, any valid Province of Ontario requirements to operate mechanized equipment to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- They’re accountable at this post to complete reports for example:- Driver’s Collision/Incident report related to assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Applicants are also accountable for operating 2-way radios or mobile phones working at this post.
