Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to keep track of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • The candidate must analyse operating costs and other data.
  • The candidate must demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff.
  • The candidate must supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
  • The candidate must create new recipes.
  • The candidate will be expected to train cooks in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.
  • The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals as well as specialty foods for events such as banquets.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising cooks and other kitchen personnel.
  • The candidate must prepare and cook food on a regular basis, as well as for special guests or functions.
  • The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
  • The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  • The candidate will be expected to arrange for the purchase and repair of equipment.
  • The candidate must estimate food requirements as well as food and labour costs.
  • The candidate will be expected to plan menus and ensure food quality standards are met.
  • The candidate will be expected to train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • Fluency in Arabic language is an asset.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 5 to 10 people.
  • The candidate must have a Food Safety Certificate.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
